About the Story
"Hunting Leader is a Girl?“ was inspired by the story "打機遇上的大叔團長竟是女子初中生？“ in UpGrade HK. The story is about the main character meeting his hunting friend in a video game in real life. It turns out his friend with a virtual image of a middle-aged male was a teenage girl.

The animation took place in chapter five where both the hero and heroine were fighting of a strong monster. While tbe hero was distracted by the real life relationship of the heroine. And at this point, the heroine step in front against the monster while confessing her true thought.

A Collaboration between 2D and 3D
The animation was a collaboration of 2D characters and 3D Backgrounds. I was blessed to collaborate with some talented 2D artists. In this project, I am fully in charge of 3D background, 3D props animation, and Camera movement.

 
The shader in the animation uses a custom OSL shader in Maya, to create the halftone effect mainly use in Manga and comics. Some shots were unused or modified in the final version due to the pacing and timing.


 
Compositing
I was also in charge of the main compositing, such as light, gradient filter, background, frame tunning.
